About Research Group
We are working on various aspects of plant genomics. Our focus is perennial temperate forage legume plants and forage/grain dual purpose crops.
We are performing genome analyses in the context of understanding complex nature of the population structure and relationship among taxa included in Medicago sativa-falcata complex as well as Onobychis viciifolia and related taxa.
We are also performing genetic mapping (GWAS and QTL) to identify functional variants across the genome for yield and quality related traits.
As a large proportion of the plant species that we are working on are autotetraploids, we are currently developing tools and analyses methods for genotyping and mapping in autotetraploids. With the advances in the plant phenomics, data handling and analyses tools, we are working on plant image data analyses. We are also contributing to global efforts to set and run various databases.
In addition to perennial temperate forage legumes, we are collaborating to understand genomes of a wide array of plant species including model species.
